Jasleen participates in International Event

JAMMU, NOV 17: Jasleen Singh, a well known young artist of Jammu participated in International Sculpture Symposium titled 'Reviving Humanity Memorial', at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt during October and November. 72 out of select 195 artists from all over the world participated in the first phase of the event organized by World Youth Forum, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The symposium was started on 15th October, 2018. Every artist was to create sculpture on the theme of Human Hearts, to revive with their art the humanity.
Jasleen Singh did his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in the discipline of Sculpture from M S University of Baroda, Gujrat.
He is the recipient of National Cultural Scholarship by Ministry of Culture and also a recipient of Junior Fellowship from Govt. of India for the year 2017- 18. He has worked as assistant Professor at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana.
He been awarded by Gold Medals in Regional and All Indi exhibitions of Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation and conferred with Feellowship.
It may be added here that he is son of Late Gobind Kaur, the 1st Contemporary Sculptor of J&K State and Jang S. Verman, Senior Painter & Columnist on Art& Culture.
The symposium was organized to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives defending a noble purpose.
The WYF Organizing Committee in its note in the catalogue published on this occasion quoted, "World Youth Forum would like to thank the humanity of those who joined us from different countries, from all over the globe, believing in peace, freedom and purity of being a human."
