Director Agriculture inspects MDTC Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 11: Dire-ctor Agriculture Jammu Hari Krishan Razdan, inspected the Mushroom section at Agriculture complex Talab Tillo, Jammu today and took stock of various farmers welfare oriented activities being undertaken by the MDTC Center.
He was accompanied by Deputy Director (Central) Jam-mu.
Interacting with the officers and staff at Mushroom Demonstration and Training Center, Jammu, Director Agric-ulture said that the every effort should be made to motivate the farmers to follow the concept of co-operative farming and organize themselves into Mushroom Growers Asso-ciations, Farmers Prod-ucer Organizations (FPOs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) for getting maximum profit through value addition by setting up their own production, canning or pasteurized compost unit.
During his visit to Pasteurized Compost Production Unit it was apprised that production of high quality Paste-urized compost up to 18 Tones per cycle within the short period of 18 days as compared the 28 days by traditional method has been made possible due to this coming up of this unit, which will help in boosting the mushroom production in the Jammu Division.
Vijay Kumar Koushal, Span Development Offi-cer, Vijay Kumar Bhagat, Mushroom Development Officer, Aman Jyoti, Subject Matter Speci-alist, Vikas Sharma, AEO Information, Sham Khaj-uria, MDA, Sunil Kumar, MRA, Kewal Sharma, MRA and other technical staff of MDTC Jammu were present.
