Reasi admin organizes maiden conference for newly elected Sarpanchs

REASI, DEC 14: The district administration Reasi today organised first conference of newly elected Sarpanchs of the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode chaired the programme.
SDM Mahore Yasin Choudhary, ACD Dr Sunil Sharma, DPO Parvinder kour, BDO Katra Sanjeev Sharma, BDO Reasi Adil Iqbal, BDO Thakrakote, Bhamagh and Gulabgarh were also present on the occasion.
Around 153 Sarpanchs attended the conference which started with screening of success movie of a Panchayati Raj followed by interaction session.
The Sarpanchs were sensitised about their powers and functions besides amendments in the Panchayati Raj Act through Power Point Presentation by DPO Reasi.
The DC, while addressing the Sarpanchs, called upon them to work with zeal and zest to come up to the expectations of the people. He asked them not to restrict their participation to rural development only rather ensure a greater role for inclusive economic growth of their areas as enshrined in the Panchayati Raj Act.
Meanwhile, the officials advised the Sarpanchs to disseminate awareness among the masses about the government schemes meant for their socio-economic empowerment.
Later, a two minute silence was observed as a tribute to those killed in today's road accident in Sujandhar village.
