Army interacts with newly elected Sarpanches, Panches

UDHAMPUR, DEC 14:
In order to strengthen the bond between the local populace and the Army, an interaction was organised with newly elected Sarpanches and Panches of Rajouri district on 14 Dec 18 at Samote. The aim of the interaction was to discuss expectations of the locals from the Army and about the various projects that the Army has undertaken for the development of the region as also for empowerment of the youth.
The event was attended by 97 persons to include 14 Sarpanches, 47 Panches and 36 prominent locals from Samote, Daj, Phalni, Targain and Kotranka villages of Rajouri district. The meeting was aimed to congratulate newly elected Sarpanches and Panches for their success in recently conducted Panchayat Elections. Various issues related to development in the area, problems face by the local populace and the work done by the Army to sustain peace and improve the quality of living of the local populace was also discussed.
Sarpanches, Panches and other prominent civilians expressed their sincere thanks and applauded the support provided by the Indian Army in all spheres. Such meetings will not only enhance the bond between the Army and Awam, but will also boost the morale of the locals which in turn assists in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
