Students made aware about voting right at Nowshera School

NOWSHERA, DEC 14: Regional Outreach Bur eau Ministry of Inform ation & Broadc asting, (ROB) Rajouri today organized an awareness programme from students under the aegis of System atic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) here at GGHSS Nowshera.Anil Kumar Gujral, Principal, Gurdyal Singh Vice Principal, Rakesh Chaudhary PEM GGHSS and Vinod Sharma Social worker besides others were present on the occasion.The aim of the programme was to promote and encourage complete participation of youth in the elections.
Speaking on the occasion, the principal of the host school said that it is the duty of all the citizens and institutions of India to encourage and educate new voters about the responsibility they bear towards building a strong democracy.
Incharge FOB Rajouri, Vijay Mattoo, in his welcome address, enlightened the audience about the working of Regional Outreach Bureau Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He said that FOB J&K is holding similar programmes in Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua and Jammu. He said that the objective of the programme is to educate the targeted population about voters' registration, electoral process and related matters by engaging them through well designed attractive resources.A cultural programme, a quiz contest, seminar and a skit were the main attraction of the programme. The students were awarded first second and third prizes for their team participation in quiz.
The registered troupe of ROB presented theme based and folk items on the occasion.
