NABARD conducts training programme

JAMMU, JAN 19: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised a one day Capacity Building programme for members of Self Help Groups (SHG) at Samba. The programme was organised by Surinder Singh, District Developme nt Manager of NABARD. Around fifty SHG members from different villages of the district participated in this programme.
While speaking on the occasion Singh highlighted the concept of SHG and apprised that NABARD is implementing a project named 'EShakti' on digitisation of all Self Help Groups (SHGs) in district Samba. "The project is a step towards 'Digital India' and aims at digitisation of all the SHG accounts to bring SHG members under the fold of Financial Inclusion thereby helping them access wider range of financial services," he said. Digitisation will bring transparency, credibility to operations of SHGs through inbuilt grading MIS and thereby increasing the comfort of bankers in credit appraisal, disbursement and monitoring", he added.
