Jammu, Jan 20: Heritage Strings School of Rock organized V.K.Soi's Documentary Showcase, Photo Exhi-bition and Poetry Recital
Heritage Strings- School of Rock organized a Documentary Showcase and Photo Exhibition on Ladakh at Kala Kendra. Itwas a 22 year project undertaken by Mr. V.K. Soi, Ex Director, Finance Dept, J&K Govt. His vision has been to bring the untouched and unseen visuals from Ladakh to a global audience thereby promoting tourism in the region. With the same objective Soi will be showcasing the documentary in various national and international film festivals.
A tribute to renowned paleontologist, Ferdinand Stoliczka, this documentary captures Changt hang in its raw, naked beauty. From the flora and fauna to the rustic dweller, the film is a toast to everything Ladakh.
The showcase was followed by poetry recitation by young poets mentored by internationally acclaimed writer, Ms. Geetika Kohli Amla. Children from ages 7 to 14 recited self composed poems on various themes like life, nature, the human condition, etc.
The chief guest on the occasion was Mr. Om Prakash, Director Tourism Jammu, J&K Govt. who applauded V K Soi for his extraordinary achievement and extolled the budding poets for presenting world class poetry with such exuberance. He also congratulated Geetika on creating a new wave of literature in J&K and Anmol Amla for his strenuous efforts in providing platforms to upcoming artists from every nook and corner of the state and for organizing an event of such excellence.
Dr. Kunal Anand, a celebrated educationist presided as the special guest and highlighted the merits of nurturing the young minds with art and literature. Glowing with pride, Geetika exclaimed how sowing the seed of poetry in these young minds has empowered her to facilitate the change she envisions in the state.
The event was coordinated by Gulzar Sofi and Sanchit Dewan. Original compositions were read by Aradhya Gupta, Shivam Amla, Jiniya Gupta, Suhani Rajput, Khushi Rajput, Virajini Rajput, Diiptaansh Shar-ma, Medhansh Sharma, Paranjay Sharma, Dris-hya Sharma, Veraj Amit Gupta, Anirudh Jasrotia, Yuvika Jasrotia, Krish-ang Gandotra, Sanyala Anil Mahajan, Apurvam Gupta, Kanisha Mahajan, Prachi Mahajan, Sanni-dhya Sharma, Akhile-shwar Singh Jamwal, Arindam Kaundal, Avan-tika Khajuria, Pankhuri Bakshi.
