Football camp begins at Kathua

KATHUA, Feb 13: Continuing its efforts to develop football in district Kathua, working committee comprising members from all the major football clubs of district, in a first of its kind initiative started a coaching camp at Sports Stadium, here today.
Technical panel for this week-long camp comprised retired SAI coach, Satish Sharma and team manager, Ajay Sharma, who shall continue to impart coaching among the selected footballers under the supervision and cooperation of working committee.
Pertinent to mention here that working committee of district Kathua was formulated by J&K Football Association in March last year after the district unit (DFA) declared 'defunct'. The committee hence formed was assigned with the task to conduct the activities till 'free and fare' DFA elections were conducted.
The ongoing camp shall help select the district team for forthcoming State Championship to be held at Jammu.
The preparatory camp has been provided logistics support by Mehta Football Academy and Hiranagar Football Club in terms of training equipment. Sakti-The Gym has extended the gym facilities at Hiranagar, if needed, a handout issued here today said.
