Keyhole surgery making difference in women's lives; Expert

While stating this today, Dr. Arun Kalpdev, Senior Consultant, Division of Gynaec Minimal Access Surgery at Mullana Super Specialty Hospital, Ambala said that gone are the days when people used to have time to spend weeks or months for their treatment. Today, patients want to get the treatment done within no time and with minimum hassles.
43-yr old Sangeeta (name changed) was suffering from vaginal bleeding due to fibroids in uterus. A busy schedule and work pressure gave her little time to take care of her health. Same was the case of Aparna (name changed), a housewife in a joint family who had developed severe bleeding from vagina due to overgrowth of her lining of uterus (endometrium).
Dr. Kalpdev performed Dual Port Laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus removed through two tiny incisions on tummy) on these patients, gave adequate nursing and post-operative care. Both patients were discharged after 24-hr of hospital stay.
