DEO Ramban launches VVIP App

RAMBAN, FEB 13: District Election Officer (DEO), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today launched a Voter Verification and Information Programme (VVIP) in presence of representatives of political parties, nodal officers of various committees related to election process and district officers to facilitate citizens for verification of their names, new registrations, change in voter details and correction of voter id cards for upcoming election 2019.
ADDC, Nawab Din, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, ACR Harbans Sharma, CMO, CEO and other officers were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile DEO also held a press conference for briefing the media persons regarding VVIP App besides requesting them to disseminate the message of importance of VVIP App among masses. He said services can be availed by voters through various channels including voter helpline application and voter helpline number 1950.
A power point presentation and live demonstration was also conducted by the Dy. DEO Zaheer Abass Bhat and various officers and representatives were installed the app in their phones on the spot.
DEO said that earlier the voters have to go through a time-consuming process of finding their names on the voter list, but now a new app voter helpline has been launched through which a voter can find his name in the electoral roll, can submit the forms through this form, could also check the status of the application form. The voter can also register their complaint from their mobile app.
He asked the representatives of political parties to depute BLAs of their respective parties for assisting to sensitise the public about operation of VV PAT and VVIP and PwD Apps besides encouraging them for downloading the same in their phone.
