DHSS celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Feb 14: To commemorate the glorious services in the field of education, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated its Annual Day & Prize Distribution Function on 14th of Feb.2019 in the "Abhinav Theatre", Canal Road, Jammu. The students of the school presented a bonanza of cultural items with great enthusiasm and fervor. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak Ji Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K was the Chief Guest.
Mrs. Deepika Dutta welcomed the distinguished Guests, parents of the students.
Mr. Arvinder Singh Aman, Addl. Secretary JKAACL, Mrs Surekha Charak President, Dogra Academy Society, Mr. R Vijay Mangotra, Dy. Divisional Warden Civil Defence, Jammu and Mr. Rameshwar Singh, President JKPSCC were the Guests of Honour. Prominent among those who attended the function included Uma Katal, Manager, Rich Harvest Schools, Samar Dev Singh Charak Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Smt.Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College and Ruchi Charak, Administrator Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana.
Principal, Mrs. Davinder Kour in her brief but impressive Annual Report highlighted the achievement of the school in academic, curricular and extra curricular activities. She expressed gratitude to the parents for their co-operation.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students. The toddlers of Pre-Primary presented the Kids dance on jungle song which enthralled the audience presents there. The other students also presented variety of items and skits which included Punjabi bhangra, Dogri Dance etc. and were greatly appreciated by the large gathering of dignitaries, guests and parents present there. Of all the colourful items presented by the students, the medley depicting culture of the Dogra Land in particular and State in general was the main attraction of the function. The Chief Guest distributed the awards and Prizes among the winners for their accomplishments in the fields of academics, sports, music and fine arts.
