Alert CRPF guard ensured timely response to fire in GMCH

JAMMU, feb 18: Alertness of CRPF guard ensured timely response to fire in GMCH. On 17.02.2019, at about 2100 hrs, Drug store building of GMCH caught fire. Guard on duty in the adjacent CRPF camp noticed smoke coming out of the building. He sensed the danger and immediately informed the matter to senior officials in the camp. CRPF officers present in the camp informed the matter to GMCH authorities and at the same time rushed own troops towards the incident site. In the meantime, fire brigade and GMCH authorities also reached the site. Within no time, dense smoke engulfed the entire building. CRPF troops, alongwith fire brigade staff, broke the windows and tried to retrieve the important logistics and started extinguishing the fire. Soon, senior officers of CRPF and GMCH authorities also reached the site. The joint dousing operation of CRPF and fire brigade continued throughout the night. The fire was finally doused by next morning. Alertness of CRPF guard and bravery of troops helped in extinguishing the fire and preventing it from further aggravating it.
