PMSYM to benefit 10 crore labourers: Khanna

JAMMU, Feb 20: The BJP led NDA government under the Prime Mnistership of Narendra Modi has launched a number of schemes during the last over four and half years for the socio-economic upliftment of the poor and weaker sections of the society and the Target Group people are availing their benefits, which has raised their living standards and brought prosperity in their lives. It is in this series that one more such scheme for the labour class of unorganized sector in the country has been recently included in the 2019-20 Interim Budget.
This was shared by BJP National Vice-President & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna, while informing that the labour class under unorganized sector has been gifted with first ever financial scheme of getting Rs. 3000 monthly pension on attaining age of 60 years with a meagre contribution. The Interim Budget of the Narendra Modi government has launched "Prime Minister Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Scheme" (PMSYM) for the benefit of this class and who can get themselves connected through 3.13 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the country, out of which 2.13 lakh are at Panchayat level.
Elaborating about the scheme, Avinash Rai Khanna, said that the person opting for the scheme will get Rs. 3000 monthly pension after 60 years of age and that the registration for the same has commenced, wherein any labourer under unorganized sector between 18 to 40 years is eligible to apply and be beneficiary of the same.
As announced in the 2019-20 Interim Budget presented by Piyush Goel, this scheme will cover people having monthly income upto Rs. 15000/- and a target of connecting 10 crore labourers in the next five years has been fixed, Khanna said and added that the registration facility is available at the nearest CMC of the deserving person.
