Randomization of EVM/VVPATs held at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, MARCH 25: In the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha Election -2019, today the first Randomization of EVM/ VVPAT was done here under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana in presence of concern district officers and representatives of the political parties.
Pertinently, the first Randomisation was done for allocation of Ballot Units, Control Units and VVPATs for two assembly segments of the district. DEO Kishtwar briefed the representatives of Political Parties about the randomisation process and assured them that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure free and fair polls.
He said after the randomization, EVMs/ VVPATs will be shifted to dedicated strong rooms of the respective constituencies where they will be kept under tight security and protection and further randomisation for allocation of EVMs to polling stations shall be done in next phases.
He further stated that the main aim of randomisation is to ensure free and fair elections with no human intervention as the randomisation is being done by dedicated software for the purpose.
Later, a copy having first randomization details of EVM/VVPATs were provided to representatives of political parties.
Present in the meeting were ARO-51, Kishtwar (ADC Kishtwar) Pawan Parihar ARO-Inderwal (ACR Kishtwar), Dr. Amir Hussain, ENT Kishtwar, Angrez Singh, DIO NIC, Syed Sartaj, Nodal Officer EVM/ VVPAT, Dr. Arjun Singh, besides concerned officers and representatives of Political Parties.
