Training cum awareness session on EVM, VVPAT held at Doda

DODA MARCH 25: With a view to conduct fair and transparent upcoming election which is scheduled to held on 18th of April in second phase for 5-Udhampur parliamentary constituency, training cum awareness programmes has been organized on EVMs with Verifiable paper audit trail at community Hall Doda and DC office Doda for polling staff, which comprised PO,P1, P2 and P3 also.
The training cum awareness programmes were organized under supervision of District Election Officer, Doda. During the day the polling staff were trained for manhandling of EVM-VVPAT in case to conduct upcoming election in proper manner.
Assembly Level Master trainer Dr Akhter Hussain, Asst. Professor GDC, Doda, Maqsood Hussain lecturer,Jahangir Nawaz JE PHE,Vikram Singh JE for the operation of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines informed the trainees about its functioning in detail. It was informed that the VVPAT will be used for the first time in the coming elections to the Lok Sabha/state assembly. VVPAT is an independent system attached to the EVM which allows the voters to see on the screen of the machine a printed copy containing the serial number, name, and symbol of the candidate of his choice he cast the vote.
The trainers explained the functioning of Ballot Unit, Control Unit and other allied functions and operations of the electronic voting machines.
Series of training sessions will be imparted to almost 2500 employees, which will be conducted at DC office and community hall Doda from 25th of March to April 1.
Meanwhile General Observer interacted with the trainees and urged them to get full trained as how to handle EVM VVPAT in proper manner so that they will not face any problem at their respective polling stations. DEO Dr. Sagar D. Doifode, ADDC Doda, ARO Doda, ARO Bhaderwah, ACD Doda Nodal officer for training also attended the training.
