JMC organizes awareness programme

Jammu, Apr 15: JMC organized awareness programme for three consecutive days from 13th to 15th April, 2019 at three different places on the bank of river Tawi, one at Har Ki Pauri, two adjoining Tawi Bridge. Where 12 persons were deployed for segregation, one truck, two autos and one modernized auto to carry flowers from religious places to Bhagwati Nagar compost site of JMC in collaboration with various organizations such as the department of Enviro-nment Science, Jammu University, the J&K State Board of Pollution Control Board Jammu, NGO Disha and NGO Tawi Andolan. The Jammuitee were suggested not to use polythene bags as carry bags, the life of these bags is 300 years below the earth and 3000 years above the earth. Dr. Zaffar Iqbal and Master Jorawar Singh of JMC requested Jammuitee to avoid using Polythene bags as carry bags to their homes/commercial building/religious places, etc. The response of the public was favourable in tune with JMC efforts to clean Jammu.
After the segregation of organic and inorganic material, the segregated flowers were taken to modernized Tempo by JMC team members and State Board of Pollution Control in the presence of Chairman of Pollution Control Board Ravi Kesar and member Secretary B.M Sharma. Top Management of industries escorted JMC and determined to compaign against using Polythene bags. They remained present in the 3 successive days of Bahu Fort mela, Director Emcure Limited Satish Koul, Director Uflex Limited J.P Singh, Director Saraswati Agro Limited honoured the movement whole heartedly.
JMC and Pollution Control Board installed different slogan written banner on different sites so that a direct message may reach to public for execution of Solid Waste, on the second day of Bahu Fort Mela it was observed people tried to avoid using Polythene bags which enable JMC to understand that their awareness camps are successful and surroundings people supported the movement to Clean Jammu and go Green Jammu.
