BJP failed to do anything good for Kashmiri Pandits in last 5 years: Mir

JAMMU, Apr 17: JKPCC Chief and Congress candidate from Anantnag parliamentary constituency GA Mir along with former Minister and Congress contesting candidate from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla today sought votes and of Kashmiri Migrants at Muthi today. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Former Minister Mulla Ram, Former Minister Raman Matto, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Yougesh Saini, Rural Distt President Hari Singh Chib, Manmohan Singh, Retd. Commissioner Secretary Vinod Koul, RK Bhat , Hera Lal Pandita, Rajiv Saraf, Chaman Lal Koul beside others others.
They made a fervent appeal to migrant voters of the Srinagar and Anantnag Parliamentary constituencies to cast their votes in favour of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Ahmed Mir to strengthen secular forces. PDP-BJP dispensation has betrayed the people of the State in general and migrants in particular by failing in addressing to their accumulated problems, former Mir said in Jagti today. Mir asked BJP as to what progress has been made in fulfilling the vacancies for the migrant youth under Prime Minister's package in the past five years. He said the NC-Congress government had undertaken fast-track recruitment keeping in view the age and miseries of the unemployed educated youth. He sought massive mandate for him, hoping that people will come in large numbers to cast their votes. Mir expressed anguish over delay in renovation of migrant colonies and ensuring regulated drinking water and power supply.
Mir urged upon the KPs to gear up for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections and ensures his victory with an overwhelming majority, for the fact victory of Congress candidate will be the victory of secular forces in the State. He said that high time for the people to defeat the menace of BJP-PDP combination, which is hell bent upon to divide people on religious and regional lines for the sake of power.
People have realized that the PDP BJP Coalition which is responsible for the agony and anguish of the people and their vote to PDP will not serve their motive. Mir reminded the people of betrayal and backstabbing on the part of PDP with their electorates during 2014 Assembly Elections, when PDP secured votes to checkmate BJP, but what happened after the results is known to people of valley and this time people will vote against anti-people and wrong policies of PDP BJP Coalition, which was fully responsible for the damages caused to life and property in the valley.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla described G.A. Mir as a leader of masses, who has always remained steadfast to serve the people to the best of his ability, he urged upon the people to vote for G.A. Mir and ensure his victory with a thumping majority. Bhalla raked up the BJP's performance on the governance and development front, alleging that it had been "equally disappointing". "The state witnessed one of the worst periods of governance and development deficit in recent times.
"Unity against these forces is the need of the hour and this is an opportunity to come together and rise above our differences to stand in defense of our dignity and respect.
NC and Congress have decided to fight these elections together "with the sole intention of ensuring the comprehensive defeat of the politics of communalism, polarization and divisiveness.
