Army organises awareness lecture

JAMMU, APRIL 17: Indian Army organised a an awareness lecture on "World Hemophilia Day" at Marhot, Moddle School, Sakhi Peer Maidan, Jhullas, Kotli, Galuthi, Batraigala, Sabra Gali and Youth Centre Palma. The aim of the event was to spread awareness about "World Hemophilia Day" as well as about the importance of the Day.
Hemophilia Day is organised worldwide to increase awareness about Hemophilia, a rare condition in which the blood does not clot properly. World Hemophilia Day was first organised in the year 1989 by World Federation of Hemophilia which chose to bring the community together on Apr 17th of every year in honour of founder of World Federation of Hemophilia, Frank Schnabel's birthday. People suffering from this diseases bleed very easily and their blood takes longer time to clot. The condition of Hemophilia cannot be cured but it can be treated to decrease symptoms and even the future complication in health.
The highlight of the event was the interactive session in which the speaker answered number of queries of the locals about courses of cures for Hemophilia and general questions about good food, nutrition and good health. The local populace appreciated the Army for such informative lecture and efforts taken to reach out people of far flung and remote areas.
