Police destroys Illegal cultivation of Poppy Straw plants in Rajouri

JAMMU, APRIL 18: J&K Police of district Rajouri today destroyed illegal cultivation of poppy straw from a field in Sawari under the jurisdiction Police Station Kandi .
Reports said that a specific information was received that a person namely Mohammad Altaf son of Mohammad Bashir resident of Sawari has cultivated poppy plants illegally in his agriculture land in the area.
On this information a case FIR No 34/2019 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Kandi and a team of police party of PS alongwith Naib Tehsildar Kandi (executive magistrate first class ) and Patwari Halqa concerned rushed to the spot for investigation and all legal formalities were completed. The cultivation was destroyed thereafter.
People are requested to kindly inform police in case there is any cultivation of poppy straw in any part of Rajouri district which is a threat to the lives of younger generations.
