State Mini teams leave for Volleyball Nationals

JAMMU, APRIL 18: Young volleyball teams of the state today left for participation in the 27th Mini-National Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship to be held at Shirdi in Maharashtra from April 21 to April 26.
Prior to proceeding for participation, the teams underwent a 14 days intensive coaching camp which was organised by Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) in collaboration with Directorate of Physical Education, JU and J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC).
The contingent was flagged off by Director Sports and Physical Education JU,
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, who wished both teams success in the National Championship.
Earlier, Manager MA Stadium, Ashok Singh led penal screened the teams on JU Campus.
The state contingent is accompanied by Mulkh Raj, Shubham Sharma and Mohinder Sharma as coaches and managers respectively.
While the boys' team has been placed in Pool-D with Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Pondicherry, the girls' team in Pool-A shall play against West Bengal, Gujarat, Karnataka and Pondicherry.

BOYS: Harshit Raina; Ayaz Madni (both Poonch); Aryan Rakwal (Jammu); Rohit Verma (Kathua); Aman Khajuria (Kathua); Nitin Sharma (Kathua); Prince Sharma (Kathua); Kangan (Samba); Bhanu Partap Singh (Pallanwalla); Arun Rajput (Pallanwalla); Akash Bhau (Pallanwala); Divya Rajput (Pallanwala).
GIRLS: Sukhmani Kaur (Jammu); Parerna Rajput (Jammu); Pragya Sharma (Jammu); Tashveen Kour (Jammu); Sonia Sharma (Samba); Suman Kumar (Samba); Ruchi Charak (Samba); Jiya Charak (Samba); Komal Katal (Samba); Simran Kumari (Samba); Arshia (Samba).
Meanwhile, president VAJK, Sidharth Daluja, general secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra executive vice president, HS Gill, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kuldeep Magotra and treasurer, RC Sharma as also JU Volleyball coach, Vikas Karlopia also wished the teams improved performance.
