DDC Ramban held Sarpanch conference

RAMBAN, Jun 19: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today conducted a one day Sarpanch conference on the eve of launch of Government-public interface programme "Back to Village" to sensitize representatives of PRIs and making programme grand successful.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Nabab Din, ACR, Harbans Lal, SDMs, CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACD, Zaffer Ahmed Banday, CEO, CHO, CAO, and representatives of Panchyat Raj Institutions of all blocks.
While DDC addressing the Sarpanches said that under this noble administrative outreach programme designated gazetted officers will stay for at least two-days including a night halt in assigned villages and take a firsthand assessment of developmental needs and economic potential by holding direct interaction with people and Panchayat representatives.
The officers will then submit a report to the concerned district administrations for redressal of their grievances.
He stressed upon the PRIs to provide realistic information regarding development senior, demand, problems and service delivery of different departments in their panchyats besides proposed measures and relevant suggestions for overall development of their villages to vesting gazetted officers.
PRIs were asked to cooperate with visiting officers besides sensitize the public of their areas to participate in this Government-public interface programme-Back to Village- for availing mega opportunity to ensure desirable development of their Panchyats.
DDC also chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers and reviewed the preparedness for deployment of staff and logistics for smooth conduct of Back to Village programme starting from June 20.
The DDC was briefed about various modes of raising awareness being made by PRIs, officers and officials of RDD about the programme among masses and making it a success.

It was given out that sufficient of staff has been deployed and logistical arrangements have also been finalized. DDC directed that posters, banners, hoardings should be installed in their respective Panchyats as to aware people about the Back to Village- programme.
DDC directed the officers to ensure the presence of frontline government functionaries of their respective departments in their concerned panchyats.
He stressed on complete coordination between the Government machinery and various media outlets for attaining successful outcome of the programme. He said that district level nodal officers have been appointed for smooth conduct of the programme.
