Civil Defence programme held at Katra

Katra, Jun 19: A meeting of Civil Defence Reasi District was held here today under the Chairmanship of its Chief Warden Rakesh Wazir wherein besides others Deputy Controller Madan Mohan Singh, Deputy Chief Warden Sardari Lal Dubey, Inspector Incharge Mohinder Parkash Wazir Post Wardens Virender Kesar, Ajay Kotwal, Ashwani Katoch among others were also present discussed in detail the activities of Civil Defence in Reasi District and measures and safe guards to be adopted in case of any eventuality.
Mr.Wazir while speaking said that Katra is an important town and more than one crore people visit Vaishnodevi ji from every nook and corner of the state every year and unlike other places when any disaster happens and pilgrim/s gets trapped in any eventuality no one from their family remains there to help them because his friends,relatives and known remains far away from here and at that point of time the total responsibility of their safe guard remains with disaster management teams including Civil Defence and as such special focus is required to be done as for as Civil Defence is concerned and we should always remain ready to deal with those eventualities so that loss can be minimized and more & more lives can be saved and keeping in view of that requested the authorities for keeping a team of 10 to 12 people permanatly overhere with all equipments and infrastructure to help the Civil Defence team overhere and asked the people in large to join this selfless service.
Mr Madan Mohan Singh described in detail how Civil Defence measures are designed to deal with immediate emergency conditions and to protect the public and restore vital services and facilities that have been destroyed or damaged by disaster and said that Civil Defence has got a good team overhere to deal with any eventuality and said that like past the contionous process of training Civil Defence wardens and volunteers will continue in future as well. Mr.Dubey elaborated in detail the past activities of Civil Defence of Reasi District and discussed the future line of action. The meeting among others was attended by Civil Defence wardens ,Government officials and general public.
