DC Rajouri inspects under construction Bridges

RAJOURI, JUNE 22: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today conducted an inspection of major under construction bridges in the district. The DDC inspected the pace of work going on two major bridges of the district namely Hamilton bridge and Irwin kheter bridge. These two bridges hold significant importance in the area of connectivity and are being executed by the Public works department. The DDC sought the financial and physical status of these bridges.
During his visit to Irwin Kheter bridge, the concerned officer from PWD informed the DDC that it is a motorable bridge with the construction cost of 137 lakhs. He also informed that the total span of the bridge is 48 metres. He further added that this bridge connects the entire border belt areas with one another. The superstructure has been laid and after its completion it would benefit almost 3000 souls.
The DDC fixed the deadline of August, 15- 2019 for the complete construction of the bridge and asked them to expedite the work.
The DDC also visited Hamilton Bridge which is a major bridge of Rajouri town. This bridge connects main Rajouri Town with the other areas like manjakote and acts an alternate route also.
