Devinder, Benia share 114th Thial-Chougan Dangal title

Katra, Jun 23, 2019 Punjab Wrestler Devinder Patha Padarth Pahelwan of Kohali (Amritsar) and J&K Police Wrestler Benia Min share the 114thThial- Chougan Dangal title for the first malli bout which was played for 21 minutes at Thial-Chougan in Block Khoon, Tehsil Majalta and District Udhampur both the Wrestler were jointly awarded with cash prize of Rs. 1,11,000/-.
49 bout were played in the one day long wrestling event and an expenditure Rs 3,50,000/- has been incurred for the conduct of this event. Bishan Dass Sharma contributed Rs. 51,000/- as financial assistance to the organizers in the memory of his beloved father Late Durga Dass.
Ex MLA Sh. R.S Pathania was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the Wrestlers, Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Sharma, Sh, Bishan Dass Sharma, Contractor and N.C leader Raj Kishore, BDO Prittam Ram Sharma, SHO Bharat Sharma, Varinder Kumar Badyal State President IHRC youth skill and Sports and advocate Amit Sharma were the guests of honour. Subedar Chain Singh, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, (Raju), Rattan Chand were also present on the occasion. Dangal was organized by Thial- Cho-ugan Dangal Committee in associate with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Krishan Kumar (Pres-ident), Kartar Chand Master (Secretary) and Naib Sarpanch Kewal Kumar Sharma ( (Vice President).
The second main bout was played between Wrestler Subedav Aryan of Delhi V/s Wrestler Rameshwar of Mathura (U.P) this bout ended in a draw and both the wrestlers were jointly awarded with cash prize of Rs 41,000/- . 3rd bout was won by Nisar of Doda who defeated Kapil of Hanuman Akhara Delhi.
Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this one day long wrestling event included Krishan Kumar (President), Kewal Krishan Sharma, (Sonu) Vice President, Master Kartar Chand (Secretary) Ex. Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh (Cashier) Tilak Raj Sharma, Sohan Lal Sharma, Madan Gopal, Bishan Dass, Nirmal Kesar, Ajit kumar Krishan Chand, Hazi Mohd Din, Mohd Maqbod, Sham Lal Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Sat Paul Verma, Mohd Fareed, and Lochan Singh.

While addressing a large gathering, R. S Pathania said that he is very happy to see that more and more youths from this and rural area are now keeping away themselves from drugs and are now participating in these rural sports especially in Ramnagar and Nagrota constituencies.
