40 village girls complete HBET Annual academic camp

JAMMU, Jun 22: Concluding ceremony of the 11th Annual Academic Camp of the "Harba-nsBhalla Educational Trust" was celebrated today. The students performed cultural activities like dancing, singing and shared their experiences during the Camp. The guests appreciated the role of HBET Team and their team for a successful Camp.
The Camp was attended by 40 girls of class 7th, 8th, 9Th & 10th hailing from backward / rural areas which included Dansal, Chak, Doomi, Gajansoo, Chakrali, Birpur, GurahSlathia, Jaurian, etc.
Dr. Poonam Dhawan was the chief guest. She asked the students to work hard and take full advantage of the support being provided to them for their bright future and excel in their studies. She lauded the noble contribution of the Trust to society by reaching out to the most needy students, especially girls in remote areas and helping them to pursue their education.
Cash prizes of over one lac were distributed to the high achievers in academics, games and cultural performances the chief guest, Dr. Dhawan and Dr. Sarabjit and Mr. Kittu Sethi.
Ms. Neetu Sharma Principle Bee Enn Nursing institute motivated the girls to take up Professional courses like nursing so that they can become financially independent and contributing members of society
The Managing Trustee said that the students were given intensive educational coaching by some of the best teachers & professionals from various fields. Students were provided free boarding and lodging as well as free study material & medical care by the Trust during the 17 day Camp.
They were taken for River Rafting (Chenab River), Aggar Jitto, Panchari and Krimchi Temples. They also attended Yoga classes and celebrated Interna-tional Yoga Day.
Sports competitions were also arranged for them. These initiatives bring out the hidden talent in students and also develops their over all personalities.
The parents thanked the Trust for arranging the camp and supporting the education of their children .
HBET is supporting education of children since the last 22 yrs.
Till date over 5000 scholarships have been given with a total outlay of above 150 Lacs.
This year scholarships are being given to 630 students from 75 villages.
