J&K Grameen Bank conducts Back to Village programme

JAMMU, June 23: J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Sh. Janak Raj Angural conducted awareness programme on the theme "Back to the Village". J&K Grameen Bank has engaged each and every rural branch and scheduled their camps in their respective concerned village panchayats while laying adequate focus towards government schemes, economic potential, undertaking assessment of banking/insurance need/s of the villages and increasing the spread of financial inclusion across nook and corner of the state. Sanjeev Sharma, TehsildarDistrict-Sambawas the chief guest on the event. He told that 'Back to the Village programme 'will focus on four main goals viz., energizing panchayats, collecting feedback on delivery of government schemes/programmes, capturing specific economic potential and undertaking assessment of needs of the village. He also educated the gathering about various government schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY, SHG, JLG, etc and their accompanying benefits for the rural masses.
Vinod Kumar Sharma, Officer Incharge, Programme Back to village has appreciated the role of J&K Grameen Bank in spreading the coverage of these schemes and impressed upon the gathering to make optimum utilization of these schemes in accordance to their respective needs.
Amit Laira, Regional Manager Kathua& Samba, J&K Grameen Bank saidthat this is a first-of-its-kind and an ambitious initiative taken by J&K government to reach out to people at the grassroot level through a programme named as 'Back to the Village'. He assured the bank's strenuous efforts in making this government initiative a huge success. He awared the gathering about social security schemes and attended their queries as well. More than 100 on-spot enrolments were booked by the Bank under these schemes.
