Mukesh takes over as IGP Jammu

Jammu, Aug 14: Mukesh Singh -IPS, an IPS Officer of 1996 Batch J&K Cadre who was holding the additional charge of IGP Jammu Zone has taken over the charge of Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone yesterday. Prior to his posting as IGP Jammu Zone the officer served in the Police Department in various capacities and thereafter proceeded on deputation to Govt. of India. During 23 years of service the officer has remained posted as SP Reasi, SP Pulwama, Commandant, 7th Bn , SP City south Srinagar, SP Poonch, SSP Jammu, SSP NHRC, IGP Armed, Kashmir, IGP Pers PHQ, J&K and thereafter proceeded on deputation to NIA where he remained posted as IGP Investigation and prior to joining IGP Jammu was posted as IGP Crime J&K
The officer was awarded with DGP's Commendation Medal in the year 1999, Sher-e- Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry in the year 2002, Police Medal for Gallantry in the year 2003, Army Commander Commendation Medal in the year 2005, Police Medal for Gallantry (BAR) in the year 2005 and Police Medal for Meritorious services in the year 2010.
IGP Jammu Zone held an introductory meeting with the officers/officials of ZPHQ Jammu as well as Gazetted Officers of Jammu district.
