JKSRTC VRS Union holds protest; highlight demands

JAMMU Aug 17: A demonstration and sit dharna was conducted at Press Club Exhibition ground Jammu under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President of VRS Union Jammu and in this demonstration it has been strongly criticized the attitude of the State Administration and Tran-sport Higher Authorities of J&K as these two are in connivance with each other and bent upon to harass the VRS /GHS employees, as we are struggling for the last more than 8 years for our 50% balance payments of our legitimate dues for cost of living allowance (COLA) arrears, bill of which comes to Rs.16,76, 49,497.00 and 6th pay commission arrears and bonus @8.33%. And we are unable to understand why our balance dues are not being released whereas all the docum-ents(bills) are complete in all respects are lying pending in the office of the Finance Department Civil Secretariat, Jam-mu. And in this long struggle 39 VRS/GHS employees have breathed their last as they could not afford good medical treatment for want of funds.
Who is responsible for irreparable losses to their families.
It is apparent that State Admin-istration and J&K SRTC Management are behind this whole episode and it is their conspiracy to harass the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC employees who have given their whole service career for the J&K SRTC and now we have been unnecessarily grinded by these two bodies. In the said demonstration and sit dharna among others presents were Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, B.B.Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Davinder Singh, Deep Raj, D.N. Sharma, Kulbir Singh and others were also present.
