DDC Ramban reviews Darbar move arrangements

SDistrict Development Commissioner (DDC), Nazim Zai Khan today reviewed the arrangements for smooth transportation of employees and government records ahead of move of civil secretariat and other move offices to the winter capital, Jammu.
He took stock of arrangements put in place by different departments along the National highway from Jawhar tunnel to Nashri. The meeting was attended by the SSP Traffic, JS Johar, ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, Project Director (PD) NHAI, Dy. SP Headquarter, CMO, XENs, and representative of construction companies and other concerned officers of civil departments.
The DDC also reviewed the arrangements being made by the construction agencies for reducing traffic pressure on National Highway and ensuring better road condition for smooth plying of vehicles.
He directed the construction companies to station adequate man and machinery specifically at vulnerable locations from Banihal to Nashri for speedy restoration of highway in case of land sliding.
The DDC directed the NHAI, Police, and civil departments to establish a joint control room to monitor all arrangements and clearance of road and that shall remain functional round the clock till Darbar Move. He directed the traffic police authorities to regulate traffic efficiently for easy passing of vehicles. He directed the CMO to depute medical teams alongwith ambulances at identified locations from Banihal to Nashri and stay ready along with staff and ambulances to meet any emergency.
Meanwhile, the DDC also reviewed winter preparedness plan, snow clearance, essential services i.e, healthcare facility, power, water supply etc. to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic on NH1A during the winter season.
The DDC directed the concerned to take adequate steps for ensuring smooth passage of traffic by removing, landslides, snow and proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places from Nashri to Jawahar Tunnel and other vulnerable points.
