DGP grants financial assistance of over Rs 2 crore for Policemen

Over Rs 15 crore welfare loan sanctioned for 1566 policemen this year

Srinagar, Oct 12: Continuing with his effort to provide financial assistance to Policemen to meet their expenses of different natures, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today sanctioned over Rupees two Crore as welfare loan and relief in favour of 211 Police personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police welfare Fund vide Police Headquarters' order number 3824 of 2019.
Under this order an amount of Rupees 31 lakh as welfare loan has been sanctioned in favour of 28 police personnel to meet their medical expenses. Rupees 1.35 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of eight police personnel as welfare relief to meet their medical expenses. Rupees 1.59 crore has been sanctioned as welfare loan in favour of 159 police personnel for self marriage, marriage of wards.
Meanwhile, under the same order Rupees one lakh each as welfare loan has been sanctioned in favour of thirteen policemen whose wards are pursuing different professional degree courses.
As head office of Police Pariwar, Police Headquarters is providing financial assistance under different heads for policemen and their wards to meet their expanses of different nature. In current year alone, Rupees 15.51 crore has been sanctioned in favour of 1566 Police personnel as welfare loan and over Rupees 22 lakh as welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of 109 policemen.
