DDC Budgam reviews progress of dev projects under CAPEX plan

BUDGAM, OCT 13: District Developmental Commissioner Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganie, today chaired a meeting to review progress made on various development works under CAPEX Budget (2019-20), besides implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the district.
JD planning, SE Hydraulics, CMO, CEO, SDMs, Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that under district CAPEX budget 2019-20 an amount of Rs. 4136.25 crore have been made available and 63% expenditure has been achieved ending September 2019 under various schemes/ developmental projects underway through different executing agencies. Highlighting the targets achieved particularly under PHE and PMGSY till date, it was told that PHE at present is providing drinking water to 707 habitations covering the population of 6.69 lakh. There are 70 WSS schemes presently going on in different areas of the district with the completion of these schemes it is likely that 390 more habitations consisting of 3.68 lakh souls will be covered.
Similarly, under PMGSY, 149 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 453.79 crore have been taken up for execution in various areas of the district. The meeting was also told that 113 kilometers of road length has been completed under new connectivity programme, besides 32 Kms of road length has been upgraded in addition to four bridges which are nearing completion with accumulative expenditure of Rs.235.45 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC emphasized on completion of all languishing projects under R&B sector, PHE, Health, PDD, and NABARD.
Directing the officers and executing agencies to ensure completion of all works including languishing projects within stipulated time frame, he asked concerned authorities to undertake regular field visits to ensure works are executed on time and under set quality parameters.
