ARMY JAWAN MARTYRED AS PAK VIOLATES CEASEFIRE BARAMULLA, KATHUA

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Oct 13: An Army jawan was killed on Sunday when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district, an Army official said.
The Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in north Kashmir's Uri sector by resorting to unprovoked firing on Indian posts, the official said.
The Army jawan, who was injured in the Pakistani firing, was taken to a medical facility for treatment, where he succumbed, he said.
The Army is giving a befitting reply to Pakistani aggression.
Pakistan Rangers also violated ceasefire by resorting to mortar shelling and small arms firing on forward posts and villages along the International Border in Kathua district, officials said on Sunday.
The firing from across the border started in Manyari-Chorgali area of Hiranagar sector around 8.45 pm on Saturday and continued intermittently through the night, they said.
The Border Security Force retaliated effectively, the officials said.
There was no report of any casualty or damage in the cross-border firing which ended around 5.30 am this morning, they said.
