Pak terrorists involved in civilian killings have been identified: DGP

SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Evolve an effective mechanism to ensure safety, security of people and also for maintenance of law and order. This was stated by Director General of Police Dilbag Singh while chairing a meeting of Police and security force officers in South Kashmir's Shopian District today. The DGP visited Shopian, Imamsahib and Zianpora where he interacted with Officer and Jawans of Police components, Police Stations, CRPF, Armed Police and Army. The DGP was received by Brig. Ajay Katoch of Army, Commandants of Police, CRPF and Army and SP Shopian.
At Shopian security and law & order situation was reviewed in which Brig. Ajay Katoch, CO CAPF, CO AP, SSP Shopian and other officers briefed the DGP. IGP S.P. Pani, DIG SKR Atul Goel, SSP Shopian Sandeep Choudhary accompanied the DGP during his tour to various places.
While chairing the meets the DGP had detailed discussions regarding the counter insurgency measures. The DGP directed the officers to evolve an effective mechanism to maintain law and order and ensure safety, security of the people. The DGP stressed for enhanced coordination and synergy among all security agencies for achieving desired results. DGP emphasized that effective measures have to be taken to foil ill designs of the elements across the border who are continuously attempting to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir.
DGP said that JK police with other security agencies has always strived for security of life and property of law abiding people while dealing with the hostile situations. DGP directed the officers to take stringent action against the elements inimical to peace.
Dilbag Singh expressed deep sorrow on the killing of three civilians killed by terrorists in Shopian & Pulwama and conveyed his heart felt condolence to their families. The DGP said that Pakistan sponsored terrorists are involved in the killing of three civilians and said that such acts are very barbaric and inhumane.
He said that traders from other parts of the country come here to help the people by purchasing the produce of the valley. The DGP said that extra security measures are put in place and loading points have been identified were extra security measures will be taken. He said all field commanders of Police, Army and CAPF have been directed for working out extra security measures in consultation with the local fruit traders. He said hundreds of fruit trucks are being loaded/ transported every day. He said that the local people have condemned such barbaric act and are cooperating with the police. The DGP said that the situation throughout Jammu and Kashmir is improving although Pakistan is trying to infiltrate more terrorists to create trouble and disturb peace in the valley.
