3-day ‘Khelo Kashmir’ event concludes at Srinagar
Khanna presents trophies to teams, individual winners of the sports events

JAMMU, NOV 29: BJP National Vice-President, former MP & Jammu Kashmir Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna, under whose initiative & guidance 3- day sports event 'Khelo Kashmir' has been organized at Srinagar, presented trophies, medals and certificates to the teams and individual winners of various categories on the concluding day along with Major General Raju Chouhan, IG, CRPF, Ravideep Sahi, SMC Commissioner Khurshid Ahmed & other prominent personalities.
Congratulating the winning teams and the individuals, Avinash Rai Khanna, said that during the 3 days of the sports event, a total of 935 young boys and girls, drawn from eight districts of Kashmir participated and displayed their talent in different categories, which got appreciations from the public, sportsmen and the sports lovers. The expression of confidence, smiles on their faces and enthusiasm among these young participants while performing musical events or competing in games gave a satisfaction which could not be explained in words. Participation of such a large number in 'Khelo Kashmir' event despite snowfall and cold weather, itself reflected the desire to compete and get success even in harsh conditions.
Khanna said that the sports skills among the participants have been marvellous and need to be further polished and promoted by providing adequate modern infrastructure and added that the role of NGOs too can be instrumental in organizing such events so that more and more talented youth is identified and encouraged to devote time towards sports and excel in life.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that Narendra Modi government is committed to promote sports in the country and the youth should avail the facilities of the government schemes and the NGOs to earn distinction in sports.
Khanna also expressed gratitude to the Civil Administration, Army, CRPF, Jammu Kashmir Police who extended cooperation for the successful conduct of the first such sports event under his guidance by Jammu Kashmir Development Foundation after the abrogation of Article 370.
BJP State General Secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, former Minister Rajiv Jasrotia, SMC Corporator Arif Raja, Bilal Ahmed and others were present on the occasion.
