Back to Village-2 concludes in Pulwama; Gram Sabhas held in 190 Panchayats

PULWAMA, NOV30: The second phase of Government's ambitious 'Back to Village' (B2V2) outreach programme concluded smoothly in Pulwama during which Gram Sabhas were conducted in 190 Panchayat Halqas of 11 Blocks in the district.
During the weeklong programme, visiting officers reached their allotted Panchayats to listen to issues of people and profile their developmental needs.
On the concluding day, District Development Commissioner, Dr Raghav Langer visited several Panchayat Halqas and attended the Gram Sabhas where he was apprised by the locals of various issues being faced by them.
The DDC visited Dussoo Panchayat Halqa of Krencho Block Pampore where he laid the foundation of Vocational Training Centre under 'Back to Village' programme which will be constructed at the cost of Rs 30 lakh. He also inspected the proposed site for playfield there.
He also laid foundation of a playfield at Larew Kakapora and distributed sporting kits among local players. Later, he visited Lethpora where locals projected various demands related to electricity, compensation for crop damage, settlement of land, release of KLC, playfields and repair of roads.
On the occasion, demo of Thang-Ta game was also organized by DYS&S under 'Back to Village' programme. The DDC awarded the players with sporting Kits at the end of the demo.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC congratulated all visiting officers and frontline workers and officials of line departments for their cooperation in making the flagship programme a success. He reiterated that administration will follow up all the works taken up during the weeklong programme in the district and will spare no effort in addressing all the projected issues.
He also assured general public that all genuine issues and demands within his competence will be redressed as early as possible while as rest of the issues will be taken up with higher authorities on priority.
The Panchayat Halqas where the outreach programme marked its culmination include Seer, Kuchmulla Tral, Nigeenpora, Larew, Lethpora, Gangoo, Wagum, Sirnoo, and Tiken Batpora. The designated visiting officers at these Panchayats held interaction with locals and carried out several social and developmental activities envisaged under the programme.
