IRCS organises first-Aid training programme

JAMMU, DEC4: Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organised an eight days first-Aid training programme for the employees of Zone-By the Park so that in the absence of an infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity to the workplace, employees shall be adequately trained to render first aid.
During the session, Medical Officer, IRCS Dr. Shelly Mahajan (M.D Anaesthesia) apprised about dos and don'ts in situations like injuries, snake bites, accidents, fire incidents, electric shock, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) etc. She also demonstrated that how to handle fainting and unconscious patient. Practical's of CPR/ Choking was done with active participation of the employees. Emergency technique of handling bleeding patient, Fracture/accident victims was also emphasized.
Secretary IRCS Dinesh Gupta appreciated the efforts of the society and said this training is going to help the trainees for the rest of their lives as they can apply the knowledge of first-aid acquired by them during any kind of mishaps, while performing their regular duties. He also gave details regarding other activities of Red Cross Society.
