Awareness camp on PM-SYM Scheme organized at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, DEC 4: Labour Department, Anantnag in collaboration with Employment and Counselling Department today organized one day awareness camp on Pradhan Mantri Shram- Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) a pension scheme for un-organized workers at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.
During the program, large number of un-organized workers including Carpenters, Masons, Welders, Street Venders, Brick kiln workers and other workers of the district, besides representatives of Transport Associations attended the program.
The officers of the line departments Labour, Employment, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Health, Handicrafts, Handlooms, CPF informed the participants about various welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the district.
The DDC Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir who was the Chief Guest on the occasion assured the participants that District Administration will keep no stone unturned in providing benefits of various welfare schemes including PM-SYM, PM AUYSHMAN BHARAT, KISSAN MAN- DHAN, KISSAN SAMAAN NIDHI, HAR GHAR SEHAJAL BIJILI YOJINA, ATTAL PENSION.
He directed the concerned officers to chalk out a schedule for conducting awareness camps at tehsil level.
The Assistant Commissioner, Labour, Murtaza on the occasion said that the department has already registered 5483 un-organized labors and has disbursed an assistance of Rs.4.50 crore during last year. He also said that today's awareness programme on PM-SYM is to aware the un-organized workers whose monthly income is Rs.15000/- per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years are entitled to be covered under the NPS, Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme or Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO).
The Deputy Director Employment informed the participants that 5000 registrations have been made under Pradhan Mantri Shram- Yogi Maandhan Yojna scheme by Employment and Counselling so far.
The DDC also distributed cheques worth Rs.38 lacs as financial assistance on education, marriage, death and for chronic diseases among the beneficiaries of the un-organized sector.
The camp was also addressed by ACD Anantnag, General Manager CIS, Counsellor Employment and Counselling Department Anantnag, Deputy CMO, CAO, Assistant Director Handicrafts and other senior officers of various departments.
