Mayor starts installation of LED street lights

Jammu, Jan 21: Continuing the drive to provide better basic amenities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corp. started the installation work of street lights through EESL (Energy efficiency Service Ltd.) in the areas of Shiv Nagar, Raj Pura Mangotrian etc of W.No.33. Avney Lawasa Commissioner JMC, Surinder Chowdhary Councilor of W.No.29, Laxman Singh Jamwal Xen (E) JMC field staff of Electrical section, & Health Section, Representatives of EESL Company. Kamla Gupta Senior Vice President OF BJP Mahila Morcha, Ved Sharma, Karan Sharma, Balwan Singh, Sudesh Mangotra, Balvinder Kumar, and other inhabitants of said Ward were also present during the tour of Mayor.
EESL was the long pending project which has been started with the active efforts being taken by Mayor from the last one year and LED lights have been installed firstly in all the newly created wards of JMC on the demands of concerned Councillor as well as general public. Mayor further informed that about 75,000 LED lights will be installed through EESL in all the wards of Jammu city in the shortest span of time by replacing the old & defunct lights and will be maintained by them. Moreover work on other Major Projects such as Multi storey parking at Panjthirthi and Modern cattle Pond at Nagrota have also been expedited by Jammu Municipal Corporation. As per direction of Lieutenant Governor J&K Girish Chander Murmu more & more High mask lights will be installed in the main Bazars & other sensitive areas within the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation so that any type of thefts cases, crimes, drug cases & other untoward incidents can be curved effectively.
Mayor appeal to the general public to co-operate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in Major development activities in making Jammu really a smart city and plant more & more saplings in & around their locality & avoid using of plastics, Polythenes etc which create unhygienic condition in the locality.
