DDC Doda reviews implementation of District Environmental Plan

DODA, JAN 22: District Development Commiss ioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today convened a meeting of District Environment Committee members to review the action taken by the different departments for proper implementation of the plan. Threadbare discussion held regarding action taken on DEP across the district by different departments which included solid waste management, plastic waste management, bio-medical waste management, domestic sewage management and water waste management.
The DDC, who is also the Chairman of District Environment Committee, said that district environment action plan aimed at improving parameters of environment in the district including solid waste management, bio-medical waste management, construction and demolition waste, polluted river stretches, industrial pollution control, utilization of treated sewage, conservation of water bodies, e-waste management, prevention of illegal sand mining, widespread measures to curb use of plastic/polythene, community participation and mass awareness, strengthening green clubs, water conservation, curbing air and water pollution and grievance redressal mechanism.
