Amit checks Works’ Progress & Meals Quality at Associated Hospitals

Jammu, Jan 23: Amit Sharma, Administrator Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu today took a comprehensive round of major complexes of Associated Hospitals during afternoon including Government Chest Diseases Hospital, construction site of Bone & Joints Hospital and Super Speciality Hospital alongwith his team and monitored few important parameters there. During the spur of these multiple visits, Amit was accompanied by a team of Associated Hospitals which included Planning Wing Statistical Officers Vikesh Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Clerical Officer Meghna Gupta and Works Wing Engineers including Assistant Executive Engineers and others.
During the visit at Government Chest Diseases Hospital, Medical Superintendent Dr Rajeshwar Sharma alongwith Head of Department Dr Rahul Gupta gave a detailed presentation about the historical background, ongoing works and multiple wings of the CD Hospital. This was followed by a field visit to oversee the progress of construction work of upcoming Bones and Joint Hospital there, it was followed by a review of ongoing renovation works inside the OPD of CD Hospital and other related areas.
Administrator Amit Sharma appreciated the quality of works here and directed the Works Execution wing to maintain the timeline of February 2021 for completion of the construction of this Bone and Joints Hospital. Apart from other observations, he directed that Elevator / Lift inside the CD Hospital must be made functional at the earliest and necessary measures in this behalf for the convenience of ailing patients should be taken at the earliest.
Amit Sharma also mentioned that there is an urgent need to build a "Medical Circuit Flyover" to connect all the Associated Hospitals located in nearby peripheries with the Centralised Emergency of GMC Jammu and he directed the Works and Planning wings to prepare a DPR in this behalf for onward submission to the Government. Amit further told them to prepare a DPR for developing tubular connection of Multi-Storey Parking with different floors of Super Speciality Hospital in order to facilitate easy movement of sick and ailing patients inside the Super Speciality Hospital Complex. During the visit to Super Speciality Hospital, Administrator Amit Sharma took a round of different wings with Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Deepak Kumar wherein the progress of works related to construction of Blood Bank complex inside the Hospital was checked. Amit advised the Hospital Administration that the Laundry and Kitchen must start functioning independently inside the Super Speciality Hospital and he also informed that they are trying all ends-up to make the State Organ Transplant Organization (SOTTO) fully functional at the earliest which is the need of the hour and Administrator Amit Sharma mentioned that he would be amongst the first volunteers to register for same once it starts operations.
Administrator Amit Sharma also took a first-hand account of the meals being served to the patients here and he was very particular regarding the quality and timings of these meals. He further directed that customised meals must be served to patients of different wards getting treated in Super Speciality Hospital as per their need and requirement as per ongoing ailments in consultation with best Dietitians on the pattern of various top institutions of the nation.
Before culmination of the tour, Amit took a round of Multiple-Level Parking in Super Speciality Hospital and directed that it should be made fully-functional through outsourcing it so that it can be professional managed and public can utilise this facility in a better manner rather than going for haphazard parking outside the Hospital Complex thereby reducing the chances of traffic jamming, chaos and thefts happening due to it.
