Congress celebrates Birth Anniversary of Neta Ji

JAMMU, Jan 23: Congress organized a function at Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose Statue Chowk, Maheshpura Jammu to remember the great freedom fighter on his 123rd birth Anniversary, today.
PCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir presided over the function and attended by Senior leaders and functionaries of PCC, DCC Presidents & functionaries and Frontal Wings of the Party, Corporators besides large number of workers.
Prominent among them includes Shri Madan Lal Sharma (Ex-MP); PCC Vice Presidents Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, G.M. Saroori, Kanta Bhan, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Th. Balwan Singh & Th. Manmohan Singh, Former Ministers Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma (DCCP Kathua), Shabir Ahmed Khan (DCCP Rajouri), Vikram Malhotra (Jammu Urban), Hari Singh Chib (DCCP Jammu Rural), Ch. Abdul Ghani (DCCP Poonch), Smt. Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA & President Mahila Congress), Th. Shiv Dev Singh (Ex-MLA), S.S. Shinghari, S. Gurdarshan Singh, Suresh Dogra, Shiv Kumar Sharma (INTUC), Rajesh Sadhotra (Seva Dal), Raqeeq Ahmed Khan (NSUI), Neeraj Gupta, Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Parveen Sarwar Khan, Iqbal Dar, Zahida Khan, Krishan Lal Gupta, Narinder Gupta & S. Gajan Singh.
PCC Chief said that Netaji Subash Chander Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter who also led the Indian National Congress as its President 1938 and his contributions shall always be remembered by every Indian. He said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was revolutionary par excellence who took the struggle for independence beyond the Indian borders. He recalled the historic fight & resistance put out by Indian National Army under the leadership of Subash Chander Bose , which is a unique chapter in our history. The slogan coined by the INA under his leadership has become the regular greeting of all Indians, "Jai Hind". The historic INA trial at Red Fort bolstered the communal unity of our people during those difficult times of 1945-46.
The INA Defence Committee was a committee established by the Indian National Congress in 1945 to defend those officers of the Indian National Army who were to be charged during the INA trials. This movement marked major campaign in which people belonging to all costs and creeds aligned together, he added.
He also remembered all members /soldiers of INA and paid tributes to them on the occasion, who fought against British rulers valiantly.
He lashed out at those forces who today claim to be sole nationalist and question the Congress party and its leaders. He asked those forces to explain their role in the freedom struggle when Congress and freedom fighters were jailed and suffered a lot, what their ancestors and mentors were doing, who instead sided with the rulers. Several Senior leaders aslo paid rich tributes to Netaji and described him as most iconic heroes of Indian struggle for independence who inspired generations.
