DC Anantnag inspects quarantine facilities

ANANTNAG, Mar 24: To strengthen the preparedness to combat COVID-19 disease, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar, today inspected Salia and Akura, where the upcoming institutions have been readied to augment administrative quarantine in the district.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anantang Sheikh Ghulam Hassan and CMO Anantnag Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad.
He was informed that the District administration has put 120 students in quarantine at Pahalgam, who are being monitored by medical staff round the clock.
The district has augmented administrative quarantine to 538 beds while hospital quarantine beds have been augmented to 115.
Besides, the district administration is procuring 300 steel beds and equal number of beddings as a measure toward augmenting COVID-19 preparedness. The Deputy Commissioner has appealed the people to cooperate with administration and make the lockdown a complete success.
"Anybody unnecessarily venturing out of home shall be sternly dealt with," he warned and urged people to support administration by observing social distancing religiously.
He also appealed them to help in identifying persons who have travel history to COVID-19 affected countries.
