JAMMU, MAR 25:"The selective mass massacre of Hindu-Sikh community in the main Gurudwara in Kabul, Afghanistan is a heinous crime against humanity", said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP & Kashmiri Pandit leader, "At a time when the whole world including Afghanistan is engaged in a United fight against the Chinese virus Covid19, this act of terrorism is not only shameful and heinous but also barbaric".Once again, the terror regime active in the Syria-Iraq-Afghanistan triangle target the hapless minorities to enforce ethnic cleansing in Afghanistan. Lakhs of refugees from Afghanistan took shelter in Europe, India and US post 1989-90 developments in Afghanistan.
Chrungoo said that it is one more glaring instance to prove that the non-Muslim minorities of Afghanistan continue to be on edge there. The Indian government's recent amenmend in law under CAA providing Indian citizenship to the non-Muslim minorities of Afghanistan is more than justified in view of the ghastly act of genocide against such communities therein. He appreciated the Indian Foreign Ministry immediate statement that "Such cowardly attacks on the places of religious worship of the minority community, especially at this time of COVID-19 pandemic, is reflective of the diabolical mindset of the perpetrators and their backers." Chrungoo said that the UNHRC should take suo motu cognisance of this terror act and the statements of Anarkali Kaur Honaryar, a Sikh member of the Afghan parliament, who said that "Some people inside the temple are hiding and their phones are off. I am very concerned." It is noteworthy that the minister in the government of India has issued a statement of condemnation. The statement said, "Suicide attack on a Gurudwara Sahib in Kabul needs to be strongly condemned.
These killings are a grim reminder of atrocities that continue to be inflicted upon religious minorities in some countries and the urgency with which their lives & religious freedom have to be safeguarded," Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.
Chrungoo said that Hindu-Sikh minorities anywhere in the world are the moral responsibility of the Indian nation and state and its proactive role is highly appreciated. The seriousness of the issue demands that the government of India should take up this issue formally with the governments in Afghanistan and US.
