Police arrests drug peddler, contraband substance recovered

SRINAGAR, MAR 28: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Bandipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Based on specific input about possession of drugs in a residential house located at Pushwari Naidkhai area of Bandipora district, Bandipora Police raided the house.
During search of the house, Police have been able to recover 65Kgs of charas powder from the possession of one individual identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar resident of Pushwari Naidkhai. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Sumbal where he remains in custody.A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in m peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
