2 terrorist associates arrested; Arms & ammunition recovered

SRINAGAR, Mar 28: Baramulla police have arrested two terrorist associates linked to proscribed terror outfit LeT.
They have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir @Molvi resident of WussanPattan and Showkat Ahmad Yatoo resident of Chanderhama, Pattan. Arms and ammunition including one Pistol, one Pistol Magazine, 06 Pistol rounds, one Hand Grenade, one AK- 47 Magazine, 32 AK-47 rounds and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession.
Earlier, a complaint was received by Police Station Pattan about a missing person namely AbidQayoom Lone son of Abdul Qayoom Lone resident of Wussan who was studying at Government College of Engineering Jammu. Accordingly, a missing report was registered in PS Pattan and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, it was learnt that Showkat Mir and ShowkatYatoo had managed Visa to AbidQayoom Lone for Pakistan and on 23rd February 2020, Aabid Lone crossed over to Wagah Border apparently for seeking admission in MBBS.
Officers also learnt that Aabid has been sent by them to Pakistan for joining terrorist outfit.
During further course of investigation, the duo also revealed that earlier in the year 2018, they have managed visa for 04 youth identified as Umar, Gulzar both residents of Wussan area and Adil Ahmad Mir and Umar Khan both residents of Liver Pahalgam to Pakistan apparently for admission purposes.
However, Umar &Gulzar are presently active terrorists affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT in district Baramulla. In this regard, a case FIR No. 51/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Pattan and further investigation is going on.
