Youth Congress pays one-day wages to poor on Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary

JAMMU, May 21: Youth Congress distributed one-day wages to the underprivileged on the death anniversary of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi here on Thursday.
While distributing financial assistance to the underprivileged, Uday Chib, J&K PYC President said that the lockdown has badly affected the migrant and the poor. To extend a helping hand and get them justice they deserve, the Youth Congress has provided financial assistance to the underprivileged people and their families, he said.
"Rahul Gandhi ji has conceptualized Nyuntam Aay Yojana (Nyay), a cash transfer scheme, offers direct transfer of Rs 72,000 to the bank accounts of every below poverty line (BPL) family per year aiming to bring back the country on track," he said, adding from the day one of the lockdown, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had been asking the government to help all those people, who were in the urgent need of financial support.
"This day has been chosen to commemorate Rajiv Gandhi's ideology of equality and remember the contributions and sacrifices he made for this great nation of ours," Chib said. Youth Congress appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement this cash scheme and it should be extended at least for the next six months so that the people belonging to the weaker section of society will get some relief in the hour of crisis.
