Focus should be now on support to targeted needy population: Kaul

JAMMU, May 24: BJP organized a programme today in the Jammu West area under the "Nar Seva-Narayan Seva" Human-itarian Aid Programme. Ashok Kaul, BJP General Secretary (Org.), J&K was the Chief Guest in the Concluding Function of mass distribution of Ration kits to the needy & deserving people at Jammu. The Programme was presided over by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP & KP Leader, Author & Columnist. The Guest of Honour, Prabhat Singh Jamwal, Treasurer, BJP J&K represented the Ward no. 39 constituency in the function.
The Special Presence of guests comprised Vijay Raina, Sarpanch, Chowgam, Rakesh Kaul, Municipal Council Member, Mattan, Sanjay Bhat, Sarpanch, Rajpura, Pulwana, Virender Raina, President-Panun Kashmir, Arun Chaudhary, President, J&K Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Vimla Chrungoo, Secretary-DoPK, P.K.Tikoo, Deepak Khanna, Vishal Fotedar and Sandeep Kisroo, Programme Coordinator. On the occasion, the organizers honoured the Carona Warriors and presented them mementos in recognition of their consistent contribution despite the pandemic dangers involved in the social service. Vijay Raina presented the welcome address while Sandeep Kisroo conducted the proceedings of the programme. Rakesh Kaul, in the end presented a Vote of Thanks.
Ashok Kaul, in his address on the occasion emphasized on the implementation of the concept of support to the targeted needy population, henceforth. He said that the mass distribution drive of ration and face masks has achieved it's set goals of reaching to all and sundry. The people's support and the positive attitude of the society during this crisis situation has been enormous and overwhelming. The special involvement of youth and women in this classic social mission has been inspiring for our future work. He congratulated the whole team of organisers and volunteers on the occasion.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his keynote speech said that a minimum of 1,500 Ration-kits and 20,000 face-masks besides cash assistance were distributed among the migrant labour families over the last two months. Overall 20 phases were organised for the project and now the focus has shifted to the targeted needy populace of the society who are still in need of help and support. Nepals' immigrant worker families were also provided support. The whole drive comprising ration kits, face masks and cash assistance amounting to a minimum of Rs. twenty lakh was successfully conducted with an overwhelming support of donors, sponsors and volunteers.
He said that during the lockdown period, a successful campaign regarding the Domicile issue also achieved the set results for which we Express our thanks to the party leadership at the centre. He appealed to the youth to contribute to peace, progress and prosperity of the UT of J&K and prepare for the ensuing competitive examinations for recruitment in the UT.
