Court rejects bail of alleged narco smuggler

Jammu, JUNE 26: Principal Sessions Judge Kamlesh Pandit today rejected the bail application of OM Parkash from whose police recovered Poppy Straw on June 23, 2020. Principal Sessions Judge Kamlesh Pandit while rejecting the bail application observed that illegal trafficking and trade in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances has posed potential threat to the whole society as it is eating the very vitals of the society and the the menace of traffickers is spreading its tentacles to every nook and corner of the U.T of J&K . This court cannot loose sight of the conduct of the accused person and the quantity of the contraband he was possessing and also the stage of investigation coupled with period on incarceration. The release of accused person at this stage will definitely have its adverse affect on the society at large. The habitual drug traffickers are spreading the addiction of Narcotics & Psychotropic substances among the young generations making them slaves of the same who after becoming addicts spoil their lives and also ruin the lives of their family members, therefore, the release of such accused persons prematurely will not meet the ends of justice. As already discussed the investigation in going on, which may pull out the connections of the accused person in carrying out such anti social activities.JNF
