Melodious Thumri, Dadra renditions during 16th week of SaMaPa Digital Baithak

JAMMU, Oct 20: SaMaPa Digital Baithak Series presented melodious sessions of light classical forms like Thumri and Dadra in its 16th week. SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts), the acclaimed cultural & educational organization of India by legendary musician Pandit Bhajan Sopori and music maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori.
The 31st and 32nd musical sessions presented both Hindustani Classical Vocal and Instrumental renditions by various musicians presenting light classical forms featuring Dhun in Mishra Piloo by Violinist Pt. Santosh Nahar, Thumri "Nahak Laye Gawanawa, Gawna Karaye Piya Ghar Baithaye Mihen" in Bhairavi by Vocalist Pt. Bholanath Mishra, Dadra "Baalamwa Kit Gaye Sidhaar, Tum Bin Jiya Bekaraar" in Mishra Manj Khamaj by Vocalist Avinash Kumar, Dhun in Mishra Khamaj by Sitarist Ustad Rafique Khan and Thumri "Jamuna Ke Teer Pyaarey Madha" in Bhairavi by Arnab Chatterjee.
The introductions were presented by the eminent Flute player Pt. Chetan Joshi. The Baithaks were compered by the renowned broadcaster & anchor Sadhna Shrivastav.
SaMaPa, with its motto of 'Jan Jan Tak Sangeet' (music to the masses), is acclaimed as a cultural movement and a Cultural Bridge of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of the country.
It is credited to have created a new generation of music connoisseurs.
