BLSKS presents music concert on “World Polio Day”

Jammu, Oct 23: To observed the World Polio Day & to aware the masses & promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan presented program to raise awareness in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production and presented 32nd Friday Dogri Musical Concert "Polio Vishanu" during Quarantine Time on the theme of "World Polio Day" at Rehearsal Hall, Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu.
The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government. Among the Guest of Honors present were V.K. Magotra, former Regional Director, Direct-orate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broad casting, Govern-ment of India, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Registrar SMGS Hospital, Shalamar Jammu & R.P. Amla, assisted the concert.
The day commemorated as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular & Indian nation in general awareness items. The specially items prepared on the theme "Polio mahamari se bachalo apne pran", "Caorona mahamari badi kaharnak", "Tika karan bada zaroori", Nukkad, Skits, Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest Dr. Charak, said World Polio Day is celebrated on the 24th of October every year.
World Polio Day is a significant annually celebrated event to develop increased awareness about Polio and also take structural measures towards eradication of this disease. Polio in exact words is called Poliomyelitis and usually targets children below the age group of five. Polio is a highly contagious and dangerous disease, caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system. Such is the danger level of this disease that infected people face the risk of permanent paralysis, according to the World Health Organization.
Therefore, the eradication of polio was considered important on a global scale. This is why World Polio Day is an important occasion, observed to raise awareness for the polio vaccination and the eradication of polio. In addition to the above program the artist of Blsks also presented songs on "Jano Jano Maro Polio Rog Gi Jano", "Polio Jarh Se Asen Mitana". The song were written by M.L.Dogra & recorded and upload on social media for general public.
